I"ll be just fine and dandy....

anyone that can tell me what that title is from wins a prize!!!

So it's true...my friends were all right...things are going to be ok. Or at least that's what I keep telling myself over and over and over and over....

All the worries that were worrying me before about the move are pretty much over with. All the bills got paid off (thanks to MANY hours at the TARGET!) and things are looking like they are all going to work out.

I'm so ready, so excited and just ready to do this. It seems like it's been so long in the making and now it's all becoming reality.

YAY!

And Friday is on the way. How excitecd am I? Pretty dang excited. 8 of my favorite people in the world and 2 of the cutest babies in the world all in the same place...Heather's new place that is!

So....probably will be out of the world of blog until next Monday or so. Hope you all had a great Christmas. Keep me in your prayers as I say goodbye to New Hope and Hello to Dacula in the next week!

Love you all!

Time in a bottle...

I wish I had some...or could at least just stop time when I needed to!

Now that I am in Georgia for the weekend I actually have some time to do a real update. Let's see if I get more than one comment friends!

So Brandy Jett came with me this weekend. She might be moving over here with me if we can find her a job. You may think the lottery sucks a big one, but it pays these teachers in Georgia fatty money. Well better than Alabama anyway.

I have 3 more weeks left at the Target in ALabama. IF they don't kill me first. Then it's the OFFICIAL move over here. I'm still not sure where I am going to be staying or what's going on. It's all been a little frustrating and I'm starting to feel like a burden. I mean, I'm the one who chose to come over here. Maybe I should just suck it up and go find the cheapest apartment in the area instead of trying to live with people or live in a house that's an office. Oh well, it'll all work out I suppose.

I've been of little faith before, actually 99.9 percent of the time...I KNOW IT WILL ALL WORK OUT. Someone just tell me that to reassure me!

I cannot wait to see all the mee-maws and mini-Mee-maws in just a few short weeks. Good times are on the way!

Well...

1. I can't believe I get 8 stinking comments by writing one word....what does that tell me about my regular post there friends!

2. Hey...was a test. The other day I was trying to check my blog and it would let me log on but wouldn't let me actually see my page...or anyone else's for that matter. So that hey...was a test.

3. I haven't moved YET, but I'm still counting down the days. I am so ready. I have a few countdowns actually....till Christmas and till THE DAY!

4. Brandy Jett is going to Georgia with me this weekend. I'm excited that she's coming. We are going to watch the chronicles of Narnia on Friday. Heck yeah!

Susan...Hope you are not freezing your rear off. I can't wait to see you.

Sara Beth....why don't you get off YOUR dime and call ME for a change there friend. Can you play...O Holy Night!? HAHAHAHA

Mee-Maws....I can't wait until December 29th. Wahoooooooo!

Here Whiney

So I am sitting here trying to post this post with an 18 month old in my arms....so if random words appear...it's just baby sydnee wanting to say hello. She is now trying to say .... here you want it...but somehow it comes out...here WHINEY! How cute is that? We've been saying uh oh, petty, gucky (The dog's name is Lucky) and other amusing random things. You girl's with the babies are so lucky.

So...update...i'm now a Target team member. I started there this morning. They are putting me in electronics for this wonderful holiday season. I work 3-12a.m the day after Thanksgiving.

It should be loads of fun.

Well that's all for now, baby sydnee wants a cacker. That's her words for cracker.

Love ya'll!

I call my Grand mother

dead. Ok..so before all of you non-mee-maws read that and freak out...

Heather and I were recalling the other day how the MEE-MAWS as we know it came to be.

Can I just tell you that I have laughed and laughed and laughed since we talked remembering that day in the dining hall and getting dirty looks from everyone else because we were so freaking loud.

I AM IN NEED OF MEE-MAW TIME.

So...today begins the count down...42 days and counting girls!

Those roads were closed off to me...while my back was turned.

So here I am in New Hope. It's good to be back to some degree, but my heart has already moved to Georgia. Now if I can just get the rest of me there. I am so ready to be there. So ready to make my "Home" there.

In other news...I now get a discount at Target since I work there for the holiday season. Yay! Since I will still technically be employed there during the mee-maw party...we should all go shopping! =)

I start there on Monday. I'll work there through the holidays and then hopefully be able to transfer in January to the one that will be close to where I am living. I can work at the church stuff during the day and Target at night. Or even work Target 2 days a week and Mill Creek 3 or something like that. It'll all work out.

On a deeper note...get scared...I've learned a lot of the past few days. Last Friday night and Saturday morning I cried to the point of being sick, because I was so scared that this wasn't going to work out. I was freaking out....Seriously. But then as I drove to Atlanta and let the Crabb family sing to me the whole way...I started getting a peace about this whole deal. After being over there for a day or two it became clear to me that God is in control and working everything out, and that I was wrong for being worried. God reminded me that HE is faithful and that HE is good, and that I should get out of HIS way and let HIM work it all out.

Pray for me as I continue in this journey. Pray that I will be able to trust God and rely on Him!

Here it is

wordpress.churchatmillcreek.com

That's our church's blog.

HEATHER - It actually DOES have sermon notes from our first preview service.

Everything here is going great! I'm still in Georgia today! We have had some interesting stuff happen to us this week.

The service went really well Sunday night, and this week they have had been looking for rental space for a church office. We were able to find a large house that can double as an office for us, and I can maybe even live in the HUGE master suite. So...pray that everything will work out for us. That's what I am doing today is getting the details down on that for us all!

I go back to the New Hope today and I am sad. I mean...I'm glad to get to see my mom and family and stuff, but I am sooooo ready to be over here full time and jump right in this all.

I found out that some friends of mine from New Hope are close by though. The both work for New Orleans Theological Sem...they got booted up here with the hurricane and everything. So they are here till March. Shane and I actually grew up on the same block and Astasha's grand-parents go to FBC New Hope. Small world.

In other news...it's raining baby girls. Both my sister and sister-in-law are having little girls.

I'll try and post pics of all this Georgia fun next time I am over here. We've all been to busy it seems to stop and even take any!

That's all for now!

It's me...It's me....

1. Susan yelled at me...so I decided to post

2. Lsu can kiss my ever loving rear end! It was a sad night last night...but Auburn beat Georgia so at least I have some comebacks today to all these Georgia Bull Dog preachers around here!

3. I am currently in Georgia. Last night was our first core group meeting. That's the group of people that are interested in helping start the church. It was pretty fun. I got to talk to and get to know some people a little bit better!

4. With the holidays and such, it looks as though I will be making the trip BACK to New Hope.'ll be doing some secretarial work for them but go home to get a seasonal job until the end of the year. It'll end up saving me money in the end.

5. The Duke's are awesome. Mr.Roy and Mrs.Debbie are the couple that I am staying with right now, and when I come in January they will be the family that I will live with until I can find something a little more permanent. I also had another family in the church offer me their "add on" last night. So that was neat. At least I won't have to get in above my head when I first get here.

6. Pray that I can find a seasonal job FAST when I get back to New Hope on Tuesday....I need money coming in B-A-D!!!

7. I can't wait for Christmas...well New Year's...I'm so ready to see all of you!

The End

The beginning of the End...

So last night at our Old Time Country Fair, the church gave me some flowers, money and a HUGE cake that said "We Love You" on it. It was sweet.

This Sunday is my last. The emotions are building up, but I know it's going to be ok.

I'm ready for this weekend. Ready to see my friends. Heather's visit to the New Hope reminded me how much I miss my friends, but how much fun we have when we get to see each other.

I got a call from Georgia this morning and they are going to be able to hire me for 3 days a week doing administration type stuff and then I'll sub the other days or the days that I need to. That's pretty exciting. It means that there's income coming in whenever I get there.

Hockey Day is a symbol...

Wahoo for Hockey Day! I'm sooooo ready!

Heather Weather's found her way to New Hope!

Heather...this is one of my favorite mee-maw pictures. You can just do the whole cut and paste thing from here! I am glad you came this weekend, glad you got to hear the Crabb family, glad you got to have quality time with Guy the FAT CAT, and I'm glad I get to see you next weekend.

Hit Me Baby One More Time....

Oh I am soooooo pissed. Pissed doesn't even began to tell you how I feel right now.

Here's the story: Everyone knows how messy I am. Well, one day I decided to clean my car out. Now when i say clean my car out....I mean I cleaned EVERYTHING OUT!

Fast foward to August 30th, 2005. My friend Dana and I decided that we are going to go riding around looking at land for her. Well on the way home I get stuck in a road block. No big deal...I'm not drinking, seat belt is on, got my driver's license....When i realize that I had cleaned out my glove department box and took out my proof of insurance.

So the fool gives me a ticket and tells me....DON'T WORRY MISS...JUST SHOW UP TO COURT AND SHOW YOUR PROOF OF INSURANCE...AND EVERYTHING WILL BE DISMISSED.

So I tell my story to all of my friends...they say...oh...DON'T WORRY CHRISTY...JUST SHOW UP TO COURT AND SHOW YOUR PROOF OF INSURANCE AND HE'LL DISMISS THE CASE LIKE HE ALWAYS DOES!

Well today was my freaking lucky day. So...I show up at court today with my proof...and wait for my case to be dismissed. He calls up the first person and then says...I WANT EVERYONE IN THE COURT ROOM TO HEAR ME OUT...NORMALLY I WOULD JUST DISMISS NO INSURANCE AS LONG AS YOU COME IN WITH PROOF....WELL TELL ALL OF YOUR FRIENDS THAT IT'S OVER...I'LL DISMISS IT ONLY WHEN COURT COST ARE PAID....

THAT'S RIGHT....FREAKING $212.00!

DID I MENTION THAT I WAS PISSED...CAUSE I AM!

The "Criddy" went down to Georgia

Great things that happened this weekend...

1. ok...so it actually happened Thursday before I left for Georgia...but Daddy got into a freaking fist fight with another old man in the nursing home. Now that we are getting more of the story it seems as though the old man (Billy) called Daddy a SOB. Now, you can call daddy a lot of things, but SOB and MF are not two of them. Just ask his ex-wife that he back handed into the bath tub one time. Anyway, they took daddy to the hospital. It's pretty frustrating. He really didn't do anything wrong. The nurse was SO pissed when we asked if he won the fight!

2. Friday...I got stuck on the 400 for two freaking hours on the way to my sister's house. But it sure gave me time to think and soak in everything that's in front of me.

3. Family Time...I stayed at my sister's house in Dawsonville. My brother and nephew Hunter drove up from Mobile. It was some great family bonding time let me tell you.

4. Alabama beat Tennessee. It was so freaking awesome! Ok...so the game itself was boring as crap. But who cares....ROOOOOLLLLL TIIIIIIIDDDDDEEE!!

5. Sunday morning...I was a heathen and didn't go to church anywhere. It felt good to sleep in and rest and get prepared for that night. And I did it all with permission from my new pastor! Heck yeah!

6. Sunday Night...THE CHURCH AT MILL CREEK ... FREAKING ROCKS! Oh my gosh! Sunday night was so amazing. It was hard work getting everything set up and together but man....when something clicks, and when something works....it's just so awesome. I haven't had that much fun doing ministry in such a long time. It was so great. The whole bunch just seem to flow together.

Next time we will be a little better off since we know a little bit more about what we are doing. But for the first time, we were pretty freaking excited.

7. If you are still reading this...you a true friend. Coming Home...When I came home I had a card from Susan and one from Jennifer. I cried so hard when I read the one from Jennifer.

To all my friends...Thank you so much for believing in me. I wouldn't and couldn't be making this move without all of you!

So that's the weekend. Pretty freaking amazing!

And there's great thing to look forward to ...

This weekend ... Heather Weathers in the New Hope

Next weekend.... Hockey Day... I will time it right and meet Jennifer at the car to meet Lily before other people get to meet her!

The weekend after....the big move to ATL!

The weekend after... Alabama and Auburn!

YAY!!

My new favorite song...

Look at this photograph
Every time I do it makes me laugh
How did our eyes get so red?
And what the hell is on Joey’s head?
This is where I grew up
I think the present owner fixed it up
I never knew we ever went without
The second floor is hard for sneakin’ out
This is where I went to school
Most of the time had better things to do
Criminal record says I broke in twice
I must’ve done it half a dozen times
I wonder if it’s too late
Should I go back and try to graduate
Life’s better now than it was back then
If I was them, I wouldn’t let me in
Every memory of looking out the back door
I had the photo album spread out on my bedroom floor
It’s hard to sayIt’s time to say it
Goodbye, Goodbye
Every memory of walking out the front door
I found the photo of the friend that I was looking for
It's hard to say
It’s time to say it
Goodbye, Goodbye
Remember the old arcade
Blew every dollar that we ever made
The cops hated us hangin’ out
They say somebody went and burned it down
We used to listen to the radio
And sing along with every song we’d know
We said someday we’d find out how it feels
To sing to more than just the steering wheel
Kim’s the first girl I kissed
I was so nervous that I nearly missed
She’s had a couple of kids since then
I haven’t seen her since God knows when
I miss that townI miss their faces
You can’t erase
You can’t replace it
I miss it nowI can’t believe it
So hard to stay
Too hard to leave it
If I could relive those days
I know the one thing that would never change
Look at this photograph
Every time I do it makes me laugh
Every time I do it makes me

Sara-Bethy!

Proof that Sara Beth was in New Hope this weekend. That's Jimmy the random guy...Larry The Cable Guy's twin!

The fun that mee-maws have...

Before the "mee-maw" babies!

The Mee-Maws before the cuties came!

Walking in High Cotton

I finally found a cotton field that hadn't been picked!

A few times I've been around that block

The Block where I have spent the last 25 years
